Project

Quick Summary

A container for planned, multi-step work with a defined start and end date. Projects organize related tasks under a single umbrella for tracking milestones, assignments, and progress.

Project tickets represent a body of work that spans multiple tasks and potentially multiple team members. Each project has a start date, target completion date, and an overall status. Projects provide the high-level view (scope, timeline, and progress) while the individual work items are tracked as project tasks underneath.

See the Projects area overview for details on managing projects.

Project Task

Quick Summary

An individual work item within a project. Project tasks are the child tickets that break a project into assignable, trackable units of work.

Project task tickets are the building blocks of a project. Each task represents a discrete unit of work that can be assigned to an agent, given its own start and target dates, and tracked independently. Tasks roll up to the parent project, so completing all tasks drives the project toward completion.
